LAPD in the Adam-12 era

A page within my Adam-12 locations and actors blog to compile info about the real LAPD of the Adam-12 era (and a little before!)

Although our heroes mostly patrolled North Hollywood (15-Adam-12!), they somehow drove back and forth from the Rampart Division at 2710 W. Temple (southeast from where Silver Lake Blvd crosses Temple, west of Alvarado; west of the landmark Lewelleyn Manor, opposite side of the street at Benton Way; now the LAPD Metropolitan Division -- the elite forces like SWAT; Rampart is division 2).

Let's get oriented with this modified (by me) LAPD map:

The black 1 is what they called themselves (1-Adam-12), but their headquarters was in the black 2, and mostly they patrolled the black 15 (North Hollywood) and the green 3 (Universal Studios), which isn't even covered by LAPD. [Another police show I love is Police Story, which shows their headquarters at the old Hollenbeck station (east of Central) while they often drive around Burbank (not even City of Los Angeles!)]

During Adam-12's era, Central Division operated out of this giant glass building, ugly (?) but iconic, and later to be renamed Parker Center following Chief Parker's passing.
I know what I look for in a police building is modern art (/s). If you can view it bigger, you can see future Chief Edward Davis.
